Lunar New Year

Every year, I see headlines post-Christmas and pre-New Year's Eve about resolutions. It all comes down to one thing: New Year, New You.

I'm not one for resolutions and January 1 doesn't feel like the start of the year for me. I always get my bearings and start planning right around Lunar New Year. I'm not Chinese, but it always feels like a new start. Plus, I get the urge to shop. A LOT.

So, here I am; again. Blogging. Making myself half-hearted promises. Perhaps, this year I will actually keep them.

On to business: I love Pinterest. When it started, it was everything I wanted. A place to store and sort all those websites and images I was hoarding for inspiration. Do you ever actually make/wear/use those pins?

I suppose I do, but when it comes to outfits, mostly I shop. Then, sadly, the item arrives and I forget. So, the plan is thus:

1. Use those pins. Catalog at least 1 per week. Preferably 3+.
2. Photograph outfits that were inspired by that photo.
3. Rate that photo: rate those items.
4. GET RID OF THE STUFF THAT RATES LOW.

#4 is very important. I have a lot of clothes; not as much as I once had, since every year I attempt to streamline and downsize. However, I still have many items clogging my closet.

And, as important as the plan is the goal:

1. Create a well-loved, curated wardrobe, where I love the pieces and wear them often with ease.
2. Remove items I don't wear or find uncomfortable.
3. Buy only things I love and will wear.

Next up: Figure out a rating system and plan for photos.
